international experience in security, operations and sales
management, maintenance and support services, training, education,
crises management and enterprise process re-engineering. Ed has
worked with private and venture capital investment management firms,
engineering successful growth and turnaround plans for companies in
various industries. His main strength and asset is Situational
Crisis Management, the ability to apply the appropriate resource,
including Rapid Response Teams, to facilitate the successful
conclusion to crisis situations.
Ed's Information Technology career began with over
ten years with IBM Corporation, beginning as a Mainframe Engineer,
Technical Specialist and culminating as a Regional/Field Manager
that directed the efforts of the Customer Engineers and dispatching
staffs in Northern California. Worked as the Chief Consultant of
Opportunity Capital, a San Francisco based venture capital firm that
made successful investments in high tech firms and culminated with
becoming CEO of Innercomm Consulting.
For Control Data Corporation, after successfully
preventing a major lawsuit, Ed was allowed to create the department,
and functioned as the head of the Crises Management department. He
personally orchestrated resolutions to extraordinary and major
problems worldwide. Eventually became a Sales Consultant for Control
Data Corporation, developed and implemented sales and marketing
strategies that increased sales volume in low producing areas.
Ed was brought into Bell Atlantic (Verizon) as a
part of a team to compete against IBM for hardware and software
maintenance. He became the top producing Account Manager in the
country and was featured in their Annual Report. Ed sold and/or
managed most of the premiere accounts such as Bank of America,
Bechtel, Mervyn's, and Siliconix.
He assumed functional and operational control of
Systems Specialists and Consultants, a full service Computer service
company. Within 18 months, he engineered a business turnaround from
pending bankruptcy to profitability and sale.
Functioning as a Senior Consultant with Chamonix
Associates, he assumed third level management control of a GTE
district of 110 technical service personnel/contractors,
restructured the District, and returned the division to
profitability in six months.
For APS Engineering Inc., a messaging and security
products company, an authority in providing directory technology and
services. Ed provided and coordinated consulting, training, customer
and technical support as well as developing and heading an
international sales organization for consulting services, fax and
LDAP applications.
Ed was a co-creator and responsible for functional
support of the Cyber Business Center (CBC)
http://www.sfsu.edu/~cfe/community.htm in partnership with the
Bank of America, the CBC was developed as a joint venture between
the Computer Science department of San Francisco State University,
the College of Business, (Ohrenschall Center for Entrepreneurship)
and a privately owned firm, Chamonix Associates. CBC created and
designed business and security tools that allowed a base of 800
small and medium size businesses small businesses to compete
effectively in the Internet economy.
Ed continues to work very closely as an advisor to
the Computer Science, Engineering, and Business departments of San
Francisco State University. He evaluated Computer Master Degree
candidate projects and was a signatory for Master Degree
qualification. Ed maintains a strong relationship with the
University and serves as a conduit for well qualified Grad students
to the business community.
Ed was a Senior Consultant and co-founder of
Gematech North America, a wholly owned subsidiary an international
company based in the U.K. Ed assisted in the development of the
marketing, sales and investment proposal planning and
implementation. Gematech NA provides leading edge, innovative
solutions for Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Virtual Call
Center, Remote-Worker, Help desk, Customer Relationship Management
and Least Cost Routing markets.
Ed serves as Chief Consultant Chamonix Associates,
an IT project management firm with offices in Orinda California,
Raleigh North Carolina and Le Faouët France. He has authored courses
and specialized in creating comprehensive Multi-lingual security
programs based on Social Engineering techniques. Ed developed the
course, "Beyond the Firewall" in English and French. He is currently
providing management guidance for the conversion of a Chateau into a
Convention and Seminar Center in Le Faouët, France.
Ed is functionally, the VP of Business Development
of Chamonix Associates, a firm that specializes in, Rapid Response
Team Facilitation, Project Management, Contact and Identity
Management, Sales and Marketing support, Crisis Management,
Education and Training. Chamonix is known for providing superior
solutions and consulting services to clients that involves
facilitation and management of software development projects.
Phil Smith - Chief Technology Officer
Phil Smith is a startup veteran with 30 years
expertise in advanced telecommunications product development and
management architecting both applications, kernel and network
products with numerous major organizations. Environments range from
embedded systems to advanced operating systems. Many technical lead
roles for high-profile projects with HP/Compaq, NASA, Lawrence

veteran, Langhorne brings over 25 years experience building

and for several years, held key roles at Cranite Systems Inc. as Vice
