The Enterprise Edition (Version 4.0) of our award-winning flagship
software, WirelessWall has exciting new features including
support for virtual local area networks (VLANs), integration
with AirMagnet intrusion detection systems, directory caching,
RADIUS failover and easier installation and configuration than
ever before.
WirelessWall 4.0 is the first Layer 2 software-only security
solution to provide support for VLANs, which are created by
grouping together physically connected ports. Customers can use
existing VLAN trunks, create flexible VLAN configurations and
run multiple subnets on the same infrastructure. VLANs can be
treated as separate networks, making it easier for network
administrators to manage and secure traffic.
Graphical Installer
WirelessWall now has an installer that is GUI-based and no longer requires command line use.
This streamlined installer allows WirelessWall Access Controllers to be configured in minutes.
These “plug-and-play” improvements in the installation process reduces configuration time and the
possibility of errors.
Virtual LANs
Virtual
LANs allow users to run multiple subnets using the same
networking infrastructure. The user can specify VLANs per client
policy and a VLAN for WirelessWall Management traffic. This new
feature allows customers to use WirelessWall in conjunction with
VLAN trunks and allows flexible VLAN configuration
Directory Caching
WirelessWall is the only security
product that caches directory information from the server and
can use multiple servers to take advantage of load balancing and
backup. Further, it allows customers to use existing directory
structure and simplifies integration with Active Directory.
- Significant performance enhancements with quicker access
of directory information.
- Improved integration with directory servers
- Allows use of cached directory information during
directory outages.
- Reduces integration time, training costs, increases
uptime.
- The directory caching feature provide significantly
higher uptime for the wireless network; if communication
between the WW Manager and directory server/s is
interrupted, wireless users can continue to be authenticated
and authorized.
With the new directory caching feature,
WirelessWall 4.0 maintains security and authentication
capabilities even during directory server failures, providing
significantly higher uptime for the wireless network. The RADIUS
failover mechanism maintains authentication services, ensuring
that network access is granted only to those with the proper
credentials.
Management Simplified
Government organizations and enterprises
that are deploying wireless networks understand that security
concerns extend beyond the physical walls of the building. With
WirelessWall 4.0, network administrators can more easily manage
and secure network traffic in more ways than ever before.
Security officers can rest assured that security and
authentication will be maintained, even if the network goes
down.
