One of the most common construction things in my personal experience is having a house with a garage attached to it. Granted this is rare, but it can happen.
In my experience, I tend to stay away from “durable” house plans. This is one type of “typical” house plans. It usually consists of a house with a garage attached to it, but without any sort of doors on either end. It’s a good choice if you can buy the garage, but it does a lot to give the house a cluttered appearance.
On the other hand, I believe “construction homes” are preferable if you are building homes on a budget. Most of the plans with attached garages I’ve seen are made to be made easy for first time builders. These are usually fairly low-priced, so you’re not having to spend a fortune on your new home.
Even if you are building a three-story home and you already have a garage plan, you’ll probably find you don’t need to add a garage to the new house. Why?
Why? Well, usually attached garages don’t add a lot of value to a house, and you can build a house of course that you can live in for many years with a traditional garage in place.
Your home is like a piece of jewelry that you should keep in excellent condition. You shouldn’t throw it out or sell it to make extra money unless you want to do it. There are plenty of advantages to having an attached garage that a traditional garage doesn’t have.
To me, I would rather spend a little extra and go with a construction project that has my best interests in mind. A garage plan with an attached garage is one I choose to build, in large part because it fits well in my budget.
